How to Remove Pet Stains and Smells From A Mattress

The process to remove pet stains from a mattress can seem like a daunting one. But, it doesn’t have to be. Stains and smells can be a real drag, and even ruin your bed, bedsheets, and overall bedroom ambience. To get it clean, some people remove the entire mattress and take it outside to hose down or do an elaborate cleaning routine. But, this is not always an option, especially when it’s in a rental property or you need your bed for sleeping. Other methods involve using bleach or other chemicals that are unsafe to use on mattresses. That is because they’re designed for outdoor use only and shouldn’t be used in enclosed spaces.

In this blog post, we will focus on removing pet stains from a mattress in a much better, safer, and cleaner way with a Sirena water vacuum.

Deep Cleaning is Needed

A simple surface clean or wipe down of your mattress after a pet “accident” will not get the job done. Accidents happen, and whether it’s vomit, a little urine, or a little of something else on your bed, you need to take care of it fast. More importantly, you need to make sure the stain and the smell are gone before you have to use your bed again. This can only be done with a thorough cleaning of your mattress.

Many people think that they can just remove the top layer cover of their mattress and replace it after a pet stain. But, this is not the case. Pet stains and smells can last a long time if they seep deep into a mattress. So, to get rid of them, you’ll need to go deep with your cleaning as well. This is where a water vacuum comes into play.

Removing Pet Stains From a Mattress With a Sirena Water Vacuum

Unlike a traditional vacuum that uses a dusty bag to collect things, a water vacuum uses advanced water filtration to get to the heart of the job. A Sirena water vacuum is specifically designed to deep clean carpets, rugs, mattresses, upholstery, and more. It uses a water-based filtration system and powerful suction to remove dirt, dust mites, allergens, bacteria, pet stains and smells from your surfaces. Not only that, it can pick up wet messes as well. So, you can remove any kind of pet accident right away. Simply agitate some water into the stain – with or without extra cleaning solution, depending on the type of stain; then vacuum it out using the wet/dry hose and the upholstery brush with the bristles detached. Removing the bristles turns the brush into a flat tool which is perfect for liquid extraction. The mess your pet created will be gone in no time!

The best part about using a Sirena water vacuum for this task is how simple it is to use. And, it is even simpler to clean. Cleaning a water filter on a Sirena vacuum is as easy as removing the water basin, emptying the dirty water, and giving it a rinse. You can dump the dirty water in one shot. Plus, you can start cleaning again immediately without any residue spill or dirty bag to worry about.

Awesome!

So thrilled to get my new Sirena vacuum. Years ago my mother had a rexair which was the same water principal. I've wanted one ever since. Now I have it! Have used it twice so far with excellent results. I feel I can breathe better plus the suction is terrific for getting up pet hair and such. I am an avid quilter so this vacuum gets all those little threads and lint balls that fly everywhere. Love it!

The Best Vacuum for a whole new meaning to clean

I purchased the sirena vacuum a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. The air seems cleaner after vacuuming. So I just purchased the sirena cordless vacuum. This is why sirena only got 4 stars. My one and only problem with the cordless vacuum is that it is a little bit short. Maybe just me but it feels like it should be longer. But awesome job sirena!! You out did filter queen and I did not think that was possible. Thank you Sirena!!

Very Good Machine

Been using an upright for years that has HEPA filters. The filters have to be cleaned regularly and dust still seeps through and escapes back into the air. Wife has very sensitive nose and would leave the room
when I was vacuuming. The Sirena doesn’t allow any dust to escape and my wife is much happier now. The Sirena does require more storage space and set up time to get started vacuuming but works very well for cleaning.

Happy customer

My old Rainbow vac died on me after 30 + years of service. I was searching for something similar and found the Sirena. It was delievered very quickly after ordering on line. It was just what I wanted, similar to my old friend but better In Several ways. The price compared to another brand was great and the pick up is far better. I’m a happy customer.
