How an Air Purifier Vacuum Cleaner Can Help Reduce Allergens

When you think of vacuuming your home you do not think of allergy relief as one of the benefits. Most people think they are just cleaning up dust and dirt instead of reducing the allergens in their homes. Those who have allergies must get into a vacuuming routine although everyone should be aware of how to reduce allergens with an air purifier vacuum cleaner.

Top to Bottom Vacuuming

When vacuuming you must start at the top and work your way down. Your floors will often be the last place that you clean.

There will be areas that you are unable to reach or vacuum. If you cannot vacuum these areas, try other ways to clean them. You can use a microfiber cloth or wet rag to clean these places if vacuuming is proven to be difficult. You should wear a mask to protect yourself from any dust that is thrown into the air.

Vacuum Cleaner Attachments

As you work your way down while cleaning your home, you may need to use vacuum cleaner attachments. You can use these to vacuum:

  • Ceiling fans
  • Bookshelves
  • Curtains
  • Cabinets
  • Behind picture frames
  • Windowsills
  • Baseboards
  • Wainscoting
  • Upholstered furniture
  • Lampshades

You will need to determine how much suction is needed for these areas before using an attachment. The perfect amount of suction is required for these areas and if too much suction is used it can actually damage the items. If there is not enough suction, then these items will not be properly cleaned and this will allow allergens to run wild in your home.

Vacuum Frequently

Vacuuming should not be something that is done occasionally. Certain areas of your home will need more attention than others, but it is important to get into a routine to reduce allergens.

You should vacuum carpets and rugs once a week. Any high traffic areas and bedrooms should be vacuumed twice a week. Furniture, mattresses, and drapes should be vacuumed at your discretion but should not be forgotten. If there are pets in the home, it is important to vacuum more frequently.

Check Your Vacuum

Before you begin vacuuming, make sure your air purifier vacuum cleaner is ready for use. Since there is no bag to empty in a water based vacuum cleaner, all you have to do is ensure the water basin is filled with fresh water before you start cleaning.

You should also check for any large debris or hair that gets wrapped around the brush bar of the vacuum. Make sure that you have the attachments you will need handy and that they are in proper working order.

Use HEPA Filters

Some vacuum cleaners – such as the Sirena vacuum cleaner – have HEPA filters. These filters trap dust in their exhaust causing less dirt to spread. This means there will be fewer microscopic dust mites in the home. This is another contributing factor in reducing allergy symptoms.

W o r k s ! River of AIR

had a rex-air rainbow several years (decades), it's in trash now...can see how this design is an upgrade of sorts (by far) for water vacuuming / just remind all to keep it clean yourself after each use and clean the bottom and tank out.....

Sirene Vacuum Review

It seems to be a good vacuum cleaner very similar to our old Rainbow, but for considerbly less money.

This is my second one

I bought one years ago and loved it. After about 10 years the buttons stopped working but mind you my kids were pretty rough with it. But decided to get a robot vacuum for my next one and was so upset. It was terrible. So now went back to this one. Will never bug another vacuume again. In the 10 years I had my old one it always vacuumed as the same as the day I got it. It never lost suction.

Fantastic- worth the cost

Works great- best vacuum I’ve ever had. Really helps with the allergies especially when cleaning. Doesn’t kick up the dust like most vacuums.
