Buying the Best Vacuum Cleaner

A Quick Guide to Buying the Best Vacuum Cleaner

Buying a vacuum used to be a simple process but now with the number of options and features that vacuums have today, it can be difficult to find the right product. You will need to think of the type of vacuum that works well for your home as well as the features it has, if it includes attachments, and more. Here is a quick guide to help you narrow down your choices when buying the best vacuum cleaner.

What to Consider When Shopping For The Best Vacuum Cleaner

As previously mentioned, there are quite a few things you will need to consider and, if you have pets, you will need to make sure the best vacuum cleaner can pick up all the pet hair.

What Are The Features of The Best Vacuum Cleaner?

The features that a vacuum cleaner is equipped with can make a major difference on how effectively your vacuum cleans your home. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the best vacuum cleaner for you may not be the best for someone else.

Motorized brushes might be better to clean carpets instead of using a simple non-motorized carpet tool. You should also look for the various operation modes and what the vacuum is best known for.

Should I go With Bagged or Bagless?

Bagged vacuums will require you to be emptying and changing the bags. This can be especially difficult if you have asthma or allergies.

A bagless vacuum on the other hand will not have any bags but will instead require you to change the filters periodically, and empty a dust collection can every once in a while. You may also be able to use HEPA filters in bagless models. One great example of a special bagless vacuum is our signature water vacuum cleaner. This model uses the natural cleaning power of water to get your home cleaner than ever- no bag in sight!

Try The Vacuum Before You Buy

If you are shopping at a retail store, try out the vacuum as much as possible before making a decision.

Push, turn, pull, and lift the vacuum in the showroom. Look at the buttons and controls. You may not be able to vacuum in the store but trying as many features as you can will give you an idea of how the vacuum will function in your home.

Listen For Noise

Some vacuums are known for their noise levels. If noise is a major contributing factor in your vacuum buying process, make sure you are comfortable with the amount of noise coming from the vacuum. Robot vacuums are especially prone to making a lot of noise. That is why some people recommend running them when no one is home.

Can The Vacuum Connect to Your Home’s WIFI?

Having your vacuum connected to your WIFI is still a fairly new concept but it is becoming more and more common. When your vacuum is connected to your network, you can map out areas that need to be cleaned and those that should be avoided.

Look For Vacuum Sales

If you know what the best vacuum cleaner is for you then you may want to pay attention to sales. You should also see if stores offer a price match. You may have seen a vacuum online for a lower price but are ready to take it home immediately. This is where price matching would come in handy.

Oh My Sirena!

I’ve never used a canister vacuum so that is taking a little getting used to. It’s kind of funny; my husband pointed out I don’t call it the vacuum or a sweeper. I call it “my Sirena”. It works great, I was surprised how much pet hair it picked up my first use. The deodorizer and essential oils I will definitely order more of when these run out. My old vacuum seems like a toy in comparison of how much more effective my Sirena is. It’s only been a couple of weeks but as of right now I am very happy with this purchase. Will write another review in December when I’ve had it a while. The extra hose and attachments I haven’t really figured out a good way to store it for accessibility and convenience. Any suggestions?

Best vacuum I've encountered in 16 years

Sixteen years ago I bought an Ocean Blue water filtered vacuum. It was by far the best vacuum I had ever owned, but it's wearing out now and they quit making them. I just got a new Sirena and it has all the features of the Ocean Blue plus a few improvements. If you know anything about water filtration vacs, I don't need to tell you how good they are. This one is the best I've encountered in a long time.
