Work from Home? Why Indoor Air Quality Matters, and How to Improve It

Do you work from home? If so, then indoor air quality matters! People who work from home or spend a lot of time at home are more likely to be exposed to common in-home air contaminants. These include dust mites, cooking, outdoor pollution, smoking, and pets in the house. That’s why it is important to improve indoor air quality as much as you can.

There is also an increased risk for those with allergies or asthma. In this blog post, we will talk about why it’s important to keep your indoor air as pure as possible and how to do it easily.

What Causes Poor Indoor Air Quality?

Poor indoor air quality can be caused by several things, including pets. For example, if you have a cat or dog in your house, their fur can leave behind allergens that are bad for people with allergies to pet dander. This is especially true if the animal spends most of its time inside and sleeps where you sleep at night. We get it – there’s nothing like a cuddle with your four-legged friend at the end of the day.

Smoking indoors also releases harmful chemicals into the air, which makes it harder for someone who has asthma because smoking irritates air passages and causes swelling. This means less oxygen gets to the lungs since they are now blocked up by mucus secretions from these swollen airways. Smoke and fumes from cooking will release particles into the air as well.

Another big factor that contributes to poor air quality comes from dirt and other particles found on surfaces. If it’s on a home surface, chances are it can get into the air too. When you clean these surfaces, if not done right, they will simply move into the air and not be eliminated. That’s bad news if you work from home.

We Spend a Lot of Time Indoors

More than ever, people are spending an increasingly long amount of time at home. Many of us work from home, and we stay inside during the cold of winter or the heat of summer. And during the holidays we host people in our home quite a bit. The longer you spend at home, the longer you expose yourself to health risks if you have unclean air.

Mitigating these risks involves quite a few different tactics, but one of the most important is ensuring your air quality. Indoor air quality (IAQ) is basically the measure of how clean or polluted the air inside a building or home is. IAQ can be impacted by many things: smoking, pets, cleaning products, construction work nearby, and more. Poor IAQ has been linked to health problems like asthma and allergies.

Really like it!!!

My recertified Sirena arrived safe and sound and was really easy to set up. It works GREAT and the water when I vacuumed my house was disgusting. I also have a Quantum X upright water vac but it was inconvenient to use the attachments. Love love love the water vacs so much!!! Thank you Sirena. I am pleased with my purchase!

Best vacuum

I love everything about this vacuum. It is by far the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. 100% worth the money to spend and it is very comparable if not exact to a rainbow vacuum. You can clean everything with all the attachments it comes with. I highly recommend this vacuum.

W o r k s ! River of AIR

had a rex-air rainbow several years (decades), it's in trash now...can see how this design is an upgrade of sorts (by far) for water vacuuming / just remind all to keep it clean yourself after each use and clean the bottom and tank out.....

Sirene Vacuum Review

It seems to be a good vacuum cleaner very similar to our old Rainbow, but for considerbly less money.

This is my second one

I bought one years ago and loved it. After about 10 years the buttons stopped working but mind you my kids were pretty rough with it. But decided to get a robot vacuum for my next one and was so upset. It was terrible. So now went back to this one. Will never bug another vacuume again. In the 10 years I had my old one it always vacuumed as the same as the day I got it. It never lost suction.
