What a Water Vacuum Can Do That a Traditional Vacuum Can’t

When shopping for a new vacuum cleaner, you have more options than ever. Depending on your needs, there is a chance that a water vacuum will be more versatile. Whether you’re cleaning up after pets, kids, or just regular home living, a quality water vacuum will likely give you certain pros that a traditional vacuum simply cannot offer. If you are on the fence about committing to a water vacuum, this blog will break down the many cleaning tasks that a water vacuum can do that traditional vacuums can’t.

What Is The Main Difference Between Water Vacuums And Traditional Vacuums?

All vacuums use air suction to suck up dirt from surfaces. The key difference between water vacuums and traditional vacuums is the system that each of them uses to filter out and collect dirt. Conventional vacuums use a filter to trap the dirt that it sucks into a vacuum bag. This bag is messy and prone to retaining unpleasant odors with repeated use. On the other hand, water vacuums are bagless and use the natural cleaning power of water to remove dirt, dust, and allergens from your home. While you can deal with dry messes on soft surfaces like carpet, there are many limitations to traditional vacuums. You cannot use a conventional bag vacuum for wet messes and spills, because the water will destroy the machine. Some surfaces like hard floors will also be difficult to manage.

Attack Wet And Dry Messes

Water vacuums can handle all kinds of messes and surfaces. That is because the dirt is filtered out and held by a water basin. Since the vacuum runs using water, it can absorb and clean wet messes without becoming damaged. Water vacuums are also more impactful on multiple services and more efficient. Conventional vacuums can sometimes leak occasional particles into the air supply that is being recirculated. Water filters on the other hand capture everything and do a phenomenal job of refreshing the air.

100% Filtration Naturally

Water vacuums provide 100% filtration, cleaning surfaces, and refreshing your air supply without the use of harsh chemicals. After the dirty air is ingested through suction, it goes through not only a water basin, but a backup HEPA filter to catch any particle it takes in. That is why pet owners, allergy sufferers, and homeowners who are serious about keeping their space pristine, choose to do so with the help of water vacuums.

Cons Of Cleaning With A Water Vacuum

Some cons of owning a water vacuum include the weight of the device, which can be noticeably heavier than traditional vacuums. This can make vacuuming tiresome and the device can be difficult to maneuver in some situations. Depending on the design, you may need attachments to make it easier to navigate. There is also a need to empty and clean the water basin with each use.

Best vacuum I've encountered in 16 years

Sixteen years ago I bought an Ocean Blue water filtered vacuum. It was by far the best vacuum I had ever owned, but it's wearing out now and they quit making them. I just got a new Sirena and it has all the features of the Ocean Blue plus a few improvements. If you know anything about water filtration vacs, I don't need to tell you how good they are. This one is the best I've encountered in a long time.

new owner old Rainbow fan

My vaccum arrived well packed and works as well as any rainbow I have owned. I believe I will order a second vaccum for our second floor in opur mountain house. My only problem has been changing the tool heads; the button is very tight and hard to remove the tool on the end of the hose.

Fantabulous carpet

This vacuum system is the best I've ever used. The water was very dirty, so I knew it was doing the job. No flying dust. Easy assembly and break down

Long time user

This is my second Sirena vaccum. After over a decade of using it nearly daily, I must say I would never go back to a conventional vaccum cleaner.
