Best Tips for Keeping Your Carpet Clean

Getting a vacuum cleaner for carpet cleaning is only the first step of keeping your carpet clean. Of course, the vacuum isn’t going to push itself. But it also takes a consistent schedule and the right equipment to remove dirt and pollutants from your surfaces gently and efficiently. This blog will break down the best tips for keeping your carpet clean for years to come using the most efficient and safest methods around.

Scan, Sweep, And Vacuum Regularly

Before you use your vacuum cleaner for carpet cleaning, it’s important to remove large items from the floor that could damage the vacuum. Do an eye sweep of every room before running the vacuum. That is to remove harsh items like coins, toys, and hard items that can damage the integrity of the machine. Wet messes that you don’t see can also do damage to your traditional vacuum. That is why it’s key to have a cleaning arsenal that can handle both wet and dry messes.

No Shoes Past The Foyer

Even if you have the best vacuum cleaner for carpets, there are some rules you must enact and enforce if you want to keep your carpets as clean as possible. Traffic from your guests can be a sneak culprit of alien intruders like dust, pollen, and dirt. A “no shoes” on the carpet policy is a small but important step every homeowner takes once they realize how much mileage dirty shoe soles put on your pristine carpets.

Keep Pets From Doing Their Damage

A pet lover can sometimes overlook the wear and tear their special friends put on your home. Even if you can keep them off furniture, their hair and dirt will still track around your surfaces. And then there are the constant threats of a nail accidentally or intentionally damaging. Protecting certain areas of your home from this wear and tear is key to preventing an emergency replacement that will cost you a fortune.

Don’t Abuse The Surface With Harmful Chemicals

Cleaning products and strategies that use chemicals to remove impurities can do serious damage to the health of your carpet and body. That’s why it’s important to find natural solutions that can clean with high efficiency. One of the best solutions for those who need high-impact cleaning without chemical assistance is water vacuum cleaners. Using the natural power of water filtration, these water vacuums will remove dirt by trapping it in a water basin that never lets it escape again.

Oh My Sirena!

I’ve never used a canister vacuum so that is taking a little getting used to. It’s kind of funny; my husband pointed out I don’t call it the vacuum or a sweeper. I call it “my Sirena”. It works great, I was surprised how much pet hair it picked up my first use. The deodorizer and essential oils I will definitely order more of when these run out. My old vacuum seems like a toy in comparison of how much more effective my Sirena is. It’s only been a couple of weeks but as of right now I am very happy with this purchase. Will write another review in December when I’ve had it a while. The extra hose and attachments I haven’t really figured out a good way to store it for accessibility and convenience. Any suggestions?

Best vacuum I've encountered in 16 years

Sixteen years ago I bought an Ocean Blue water filtered vacuum. It was by far the best vacuum I had ever owned, but it's wearing out now and they quit making them. I just got a new Sirena and it has all the features of the Ocean Blue plus a few improvements. If you know anything about water filtration vacs, I don't need to tell you how good they are. This one is the best I've encountered in a long time.
