How a Water-Based Vacuum Helps Remove Odors

Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali used to tease opponents: “You hands can’t hit what your eyes can’t see!” He would proclaim as his feet floated around the ring like a butterfly and his hands stung the competition like a bee. When fighting against odors in your home, you can also find yourself swinging wildly in the air with vacuums and air freshening products that don’t hit the target. The source of bad smells can come from many factors that are present in most homes. This blog will break down how a water-based vacuum cleaner will beat the tough odors that the naked eye can’t see.

What Makes Home Odors So Tough To Fight?

Since you’re not able to see the bacteria and mold that builds up in the fabric of your carpet and foundation of your floors, it’s important to use your sense of smell to ensure that these microscopic intruders are not present in your home. Over time they can cause serious health problems and damage to your property. On top of that, guests and residents will soon become disgusted by the smell as well.

Since you can’t see these smelly intruders, you have to be very disciplined about cleaning your entire home consistently. Getting the right tools and holding yourself accountable are the first steps to facing your funky opponents like the true heavyweight cleaning champion you were born to be.

What’s The Difference Between Traditional And Water-Based Vacuum Cleaners?

A water-based vacuum cleaner can handle both wet and dry messes, which traditional vacuums can’t do. When you are dealing with wet messes that can cause mold, you have to act fast. Or, you’ll risk long-term damage that will cost you a fortune. Another reason that homeowners are choosing new water vacuum technology over conventional vacuums is that they are tired of dealing with messy vacuum bags, which need to be replaced constantly. The cleaning and refill process for water vacuum on the other hand is as simple as dumping the dirty water out and refilling it with a fresh supply of H2O.

Oh My Sirena!

I’ve never used a canister vacuum so that is taking a little getting used to. It’s kind of funny; my husband pointed out I don’t call it the vacuum or a sweeper. I call it “my Sirena”. It works great, I was surprised how much pet hair it picked up my first use. The deodorizer and essential oils I will definitely order more of when these run out. My old vacuum seems like a toy in comparison of how much more effective my Sirena is. It’s only been a couple of weeks but as of right now I am very happy with this purchase. Will write another review in December when I’ve had it a while. The extra hose and attachments I haven’t really figured out a good way to store it for accessibility and convenience. Any suggestions?

Best vacuum I've encountered in 16 years

Sixteen years ago I bought an Ocean Blue water filtered vacuum. It was by far the best vacuum I had ever owned, but it's wearing out now and they quit making them. I just got a new Sirena and it has all the features of the Ocean Blue plus a few improvements. If you know anything about water filtration vacs, I don't need to tell you how good they are. This one is the best I've encountered in a long time.
