Make Your Life Easier During The Holidays with a Pressure Cooker

If you’ve never made holiday meals using a pressure cooker, this should be the year you give it a try. For many of us, holiday time means more family gatherings, holiday parties, and other events that require cooking. With the holiday season in full swing, it’s important to plan ahead so that you can save time, work efficiently, and avoid stress during this busy time of year. One way to do this is by using a pressure cooker for your holiday meal prep!

A pressure cooker is an electric pot with a sealed lid that cooks food quickly under high pressure. The best part about using one is that it cuts down on the number of pots or pans needed. Certainly, it makes clean-up much easier. You can essentially prepare your ingredients, set your pot, and go do the things you love the most with friends and family. When your meal is done, your pressure cooker will let you know and all you’ll need to do is serve.

How Does a Pressure Cooker Work?

A pressure cooker works by using steam pressure and heat to cook food. This means your holiday meal can be ready in record time, but still taste great and have lots of flavor! The pressure cooker seals the pot with air or other rising gases such as water vapor, creating a high-pressure environment inside the container. It allows you to cook at temperatures much higher than normally possible.

The pressure cooker starts by first heating up the liquid in the pot until it begins boiling rapidly. When this happens then enough thermal energy is present for the contents of the pot to rise above atmospheric temperature levels which creates a state called “superheating”. There is more dissolved oxygen, which helps to create more steam and a higher cooking pressure. Flavors are locked in, textures become rich and moist, and the food tastes delicious every time.

Oh My Sirena!

I’ve never used a canister vacuum so that is taking a little getting used to. It’s kind of funny; my husband pointed out I don’t call it the vacuum or a sweeper. I call it “my Sirena”. It works great, I was surprised how much pet hair it picked up my first use. The deodorizer and essential oils I will definitely order more of when these run out. My old vacuum seems like a toy in comparison of how much more effective my Sirena is. It’s only been a couple of weeks but as of right now I am very happy with this purchase. Will write another review in December when I’ve had it a while. The extra hose and attachments I haven’t really figured out a good way to store it for accessibility and convenience. Any suggestions?

Best vacuum I've encountered in 16 years

Sixteen years ago I bought an Ocean Blue water filtered vacuum. It was by far the best vacuum I had ever owned, but it's wearing out now and they quit making them. I just got a new Sirena and it has all the features of the Ocean Blue plus a few improvements. If you know anything about water filtration vacs, I don't need to tell you how good they are. This one is the best I've encountered in a long time.
