How a Vacuum Can Get Rid of Pet Odor

There are few things worse than the smell of a pet owner’s home who has developed nose blindness. Nose blindness is the phenomenon of your nose slowly getting used to an unpleasant smell to the point that you don’t notice it. This can become incredibly embarrassing if your furry friend’s funky odor becomes the signature scent of your home or clothing.

Friends and family may not have the bravery to tell you directly about the unpleasant smell that hits every guest who enters your home. And your pet certainly isn’t going to speak up about the obnoxious odor they’re adding to your Feng shui.

This blog will discuss how the right vacuum cleaner for pet owners can get rid of pet odors for good.

Wondering Where That Funk Is Coming From?

Pets brighten our days in more ways than one. So much so that we can naturally ignore some of their less desirable traits. The strong odor that can come from your pet’s fur is the result of “accumulated bacteria and yeast metabolizing secretions.” The mouth, ears, and skin folds of your pet are the main areas that accumulate this bacteria-driven bad smell. Pet hair holds and carries this smell. This means that your clothes and home surfaces can pick up and carry the unpleasant smell around with you.

What Causes Nose Blindness?

Familiarity breeds bad smells when it comes to pets. You can’t help the fact that your pet’s odor becomes naturally less intense over time. But guests and allergy sufferers will immediately notice the smell and they could even suffer allergy attacks of coughing and sneezing. A vacuum cleaner for pet owners is one of the only solutions to this issue. You must be disciplined and consistent to keep the hair and odors from taking over.

How To Find The Best Vacuum Cleaner For Pet Owners

The best vacuum cleaner for pet owners will be easy to use on a regular basis. Traditional vacuums can be hard to maneuver and require frequent bag replacements. The best solution on the market is a water vacuum cleaner. Water vacuums are all natural, meaning no chemical cleaning solutions. They are also more efficient than conventional vacuums because the dirt that is trapped can’t escape the water. Not only does the dirt get immediately stuck in the water basin, but unlike a traditional bagged vacuum, it will never clog! No matter how many times you go over your surfaces with a traditional vacuum, there will always be loose particles that escape the piping and bag to re-enter your air supply or clog the vacuum.

Oh My Sirena!

I’ve never used a canister vacuum so that is taking a little getting used to. It’s kind of funny; my husband pointed out I don’t call it the vacuum or a sweeper. I call it “my Sirena”. It works great, I was surprised how much pet hair it picked up my first use. The deodorizer and essential oils I will definitely order more of when these run out. My old vacuum seems like a toy in comparison of how much more effective my Sirena is. It’s only been a couple of weeks but as of right now I am very happy with this purchase. Will write another review in December when I’ve had it a while. The extra hose and attachments I haven’t really figured out a good way to store it for accessibility and convenience. Any suggestions?

Best vacuum I've encountered in 16 years

Sixteen years ago I bought an Ocean Blue water filtered vacuum. It was by far the best vacuum I had ever owned, but it's wearing out now and they quit making them. I just got a new Sirena and it has all the features of the Ocean Blue plus a few improvements. If you know anything about water filtration vacs, I don't need to tell you how good they are. This one is the best I've encountered in a long time.
