5 Cleaning Hacks To Keep Your Small Apartment Tidy

Just because your apartment is small, that doesn’t make keeping it clean easy. Unlike large living spaces, a small apartment space shares less air space between all of its rooms. That makes regular cleaning necessary to keep kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom smells from intruding where they’re not welcomed. To fight back against unwanted odors and cross-contamination, there are cleaning hacks you can learn that will keep your tiny apartment neat and tidy. This blog will share five cleaning hacks to keep your small apartment looking, smelling, and feeling great.

Discover The Power Of An Air Purifier

An air purifier is the key to keeping your apartment fresh at all times. It’s not enough to spray aerosol cans that awkwardly cover up smells without refreshing the air. Air fresheners pull in the air in your home. In fact, they use a filtering system to remove impurities before recirculating the clean air through the room. You may not even realize how many contaminants and allergens you are breathing in every day while moving around your apartment. Be proactive about removing unwanted dirt and pollutants from your air. Soon enough, you will see the results in your air quality, smells, and surface cleanliness. Before and after you have guests, or in between cleanings, it’s a great idea to purify the air regularly. That should help you stay on top of the airborne intruders floating around your apartment.

Find A Versatile Vacuum Cleaner

A powerful and versatile vacuum cleaner is the key piece of a home cleanup kit. Whether you are dealing with wet or dry messes, a great vacuum will make them disappear. Some top-of-the-line vacuums also come equipped with built air-purifying modes that allow you to kill two birds with one stone. You will be able to efficiently remove dirt from surfaces and the air with one of these two-in-one machines.

Set A Simple Cleaning Routine

Buying a powerful vacuum cleaner and keeping a consistent vacuum schedule once or twice a week is an easy way to keep your apartment virtually spotless with minimal time or effort. Once you have purchased the best vacuum for apartment use, it’s time to set and stick to a consistent cleaning routine, including dusting surfaces, cleaning linens, and removing all trash.

Clean Up Messes Immediately

Whether it’s a small mess you made or the aftermath of a get-together, it’s important not to let messes build up. The longer you delay handling a mess, the better chance you have of causing permanent damage to surfaces. That will attract unwanted insects and rodents, or suffocating guests with poor air quality. In addition to a regular cleaning schedule, you should also be aggressive about stopping messes and odors before they become a noticeable problem. So, it’s essential to get the right tools for the job. And, stick to your cleaning hacks to keep your apartment tidy and comfortable at all times.

Oh My Sirena!

I’ve never used a canister vacuum so that is taking a little getting used to. It’s kind of funny; my husband pointed out I don’t call it the vacuum or a sweeper. I call it “my Sirena”. It works great, I was surprised how much pet hair it picked up my first use. The deodorizer and essential oils I will definitely order more of when these run out. My old vacuum seems like a toy in comparison of how much more effective my Sirena is. It’s only been a couple of weeks but as of right now I am very happy with this purchase. Will write another review in December when I’ve had it a while. The extra hose and attachments I haven’t really figured out a good way to store it for accessibility and convenience. Any suggestions?

Best vacuum I've encountered in 16 years

Sixteen years ago I bought an Ocean Blue water filtered vacuum. It was by far the best vacuum I had ever owned, but it's wearing out now and they quit making them. I just got a new Sirena and it has all the features of the Ocean Blue plus a few improvements. If you know anything about water filtration vacs, I don't need to tell you how good they are. This one is the best I've encountered in a long time.
